Enhancing Business Continuity Plans and Records Management in Selangor SMEs

Objective - This study assesses the effectiveness of Business Continuity Plans (BCPs) and records management practices within small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Selangor. The primary objective is to determine the integration of records management into BCPs and identify the current development stage in SMEs' processes. Methodology/Technique – The research comprehensively examines Selangor SMEs' BCPs and records management practices. This multiple case study investigated the extent to which Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Selangor implemented business continuity management. Through document reviews and interviews with business owners and continuity managers, the study examined the integration of records management within continuity plans and assessed the impact on overall organizational resilience. Finding – The research excluded SMEs outside Selangor, focusing on managerial-level respondents from the records and information system department. The findings reveal a varied landscape, with some SMEs having well-established processes while others are still in the developmental stage. Notably, the research emphasizes the importance of identifying vital records within organizations to maintain essential operations and comply with regulatory requirements. Novelty – The study also underscores the need for regular BCP revisions and effective communication strategies to disseminate plans to employees. Moreover, it highlights the significance of including expertise in BCPs to enhance disaster preparedness and mitigation efforts. Type of Paper: Research JEL Classification: M10, M13, M19. Statistical Substantiation of the Revising of Readings by the CityAir Station of PM2.5 Concentration Levels in the Atmospheric Boundary Layer of the City

As a marker characterizing air pollution in the surface layer of the atmosphere of modern cities, the concentration level of particulate matter with a diameter of 2.5 microns or less (Particulate Matter, PM2.5) is often used. The paper discusses the practice of using a relatively cheap optical sensor, which is part of the CityAir station, to measure the concentration of PM2.5 in an urban environment. The article proposes a statistically justified correction of the primary data obtained by CityAir stations on the values of the concentration of suspended particles PM2.5 in the surface layer of the atmosphere of Krasnoyarsk. For the construction of regression models, measurements obtained from E-BAM analyzers located at the same observation posts as the corrected sensors were considered as a reference. For the analysis, primary data was used 1) from 9 automated observation posts of the regional departmental information and analytical system of data on the state of the environment of the Krasnoyarsk Territory (KVIAS); 2) from the 21st CityAir station of the monitoring system of the Krasnoyarsk Scientific Center of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The paper demonstrates that when correcting sensor readings, it is necessary to take into account meteorological indicators. In addition, it is shown that the regression coefficients significantly depend on the season. Supervised learning methods are compared for solving the problem of correcting the readings of inexpensive sensors. ABSTRACT
 In the modern era dominated by technology, understanding academic developments in the Information Systems Department of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta through Google Scholar and Research Rabbit is very important. The research focuses on identifying lecturers' research interests, with the aim of developing a more relevant curriculum for students. Literature studies are used to collect and analyze information from various sources. The research results reveal the latest research topics that lecturers publish, becoming the basis for future research and guidelines for curriculum development according to technological developments. The conclusion emphasizes the importance of adapting research to technological developments and a deep understanding of lecturers' interests to maintain the relevance of the curriculum in an ever-changing academic world. This step is key in preparing students to succeed in a rapidly developing environment. In this context, lecturers' understanding and research helps shape a curriculum that is able to face the challenges of modern technology and produce graduates who are ready to face continuous change.

Generic University Examination Timetabling System with Steepest-Ascent Hill Climbing Hyper-heuristic Algorithm

A common problem encountered in various educational institutions is the scheduling of exams, which involves allocating resources such as time and space, as well as considering student schedules within defined hard and soft constraints. This scheduling problem falls under the category of NP-Hard Problems, making it challenging to solve perfectly, and manual scheduling becomes even more difficult. One approach commonly used to address this issue is the Hyper-heuristic method, which generally provides above-average solutions. In this study, the Steepest-Ascent Hill Climbing algorithm is employed to optimize the initial solution generated by the Graph Coloring algorithm. The optimization process, using the Steepest-Ascent Hill Climbing algorithm, was tested over data set from Department of Information Systems, ITS University. The results showed improved timetabling compared to the Simple Hill Climbing algorithm, with lower penalty values. After 10,000 iterations, Steepest-Ascent Hill Climbing achieved an average penalty value of 2.783, whereas Simple Hill Climbing resulted in an average penalty value of 3.943.

Need Analysis for Developing Model-Based Scientific Writing Teaching Materials Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) in the Indonesian Language Course at Ichsan University Gorontalo Indonesia

This research aims to develop a scientific writing teaching material model using CLIL for the Indonesian Language Course at Ichsan University Gorontalo to improve students' skills in the Department of Information Systems. Additionally, Vygotsky's theory emphasizes the importance of peer influence in children's cognitive development, which can be accelerated through cooperative group work and peer tutoring. This research utilizes a model development research methodology, following the procedures developed by Tomlinson, which include identifying needs, exploration/survey of needs, contextual realization between teaching materials and learners and teachers/model analysis, and pedagogical realization for the development of teaching materials. Data collection involves a survey to identify the needs of lecturers and students in the Communication Studies Program, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Ichsan Gorontalo University. Data analysis is carried out using Content Analysis to evaluate the feasibility of the teaching materials for writing scientific papers based on CLIL for 30 students in the program. Research findings indicate that teaching materials for writing scientific-based papers in Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) should include an explanation of writing scientific papers, notation techniques, and stages of writing. Additionally, written materials in various text types and genres, reading materials on different topics, and evaluations at the end of each unit, program midpoint, and end are essential components of the course in scientific wrting.

Penyuluhan Digital Marketing Pada Masyarakat Desa Gunung Sari Kabupaten Bogor

The rapid development of social media has completely changed consumer behavior and also the Internet. Marketing strategies that can reach consumers through Internet usage channels, mobile devices, search engines and social media within the broadband Internet corridor are very much needed by business people. This marketing strategy is called Digital Marketing. Apart from Digital Marketing strategies that business people need to create in the 21st century. Business activities which currently coincide with the rapid development of technology must be able to compete in order to survive by utilizing marketing strategies to follow technological developments to be able to reach the target market so as to increase sales. Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) business people have used Digital Marketing technology independently during Covid-19, via WhatsApp, Facebook or Instagram. In this regard, the people of the village of Gunung Sari, Pamijahan District, Bogor Regency needs additional Digital Marketing knowledge so that the business activities carried out can continue and get additional funds to help the family economy. In particular, Digital Marketing is digital literacy which is needed to increase the knowledge and abilities of village communities in reducing the negative impacts of digitalization and creating business opportunities utilizing digital platforms. Because the village of Gunung Sari, Pamijahan District, Bogor Regency needs to be equipped with Digital Marketing skills as a form of digital literacy. The Faculty of Computer Science, Department of Information Systems, Bung Karno University carries out a community service program by sharing knowledge and providing community outreach, especially the community in Gunung Sari Village, Pamijahan District, Bogor Regency.

Examination of the Information Systems and Technologies Department in our State Universities in Terms of Curriculum and Sector Demands

Son yıllarda bilişim hayatın her alanına nüfuz etmiştir. Eğlence arabirimlerinden kamu kurumlarında yapılan işlemlere kadar birçok alanda bilişim sistemleri kullanılmaktadır. Bilişim sektörü, birçok sektörün aksine ekonomik krizler karşısında bile büyümeye devam etmektedir. Türkiye’de özellikle yazılım alanında üretim ve ihracat yapan firma sayısı her geçen yıl artmaktadır. Sektöre daha fazla nitelikli eleman yetiştirmek için akademide de çeşitli dönüşümler gerçekleşmiş, son yıllarda bilişim alanında çeşitli uzmanlık alanlarına yönelik spesifik bölüm ve programlar açılmıştır. Bu çalışmada ülkemizde bilişim sektörü pazar büyüklüğü ve çalışan bilgileri hakkında istatistiki bilgiler verilmiş, ülkemizdeki üniversitelerde bu alanda uzman personel yetiştiren lisans bölümleri hakkında yüzeysel bilgi verilmiştir. Çalışmanın odağı, devlet üniversitelerimizdeki Bilişim Sistemleri ve Teknolojileri lisans programıdır. Çalışmada, bu programın yürütüldüğü 8 yüksekokul/fakültenin öğrenci yerleştirme istatistikleri ve akademik kategorize edilmiş, programlar derslere göre kıyaslanmış ve okutulan derslerin sektör ihtiyaçlarına uygunluğu incelenmiştir. Sonuç olarak ülkemizde devlet üniversitelerinde bu alanda öğretim veren birimlerin sektör taleplerini karşılayacak düzeyde müfredat hazırladığı sonucuna varılmıştır. Ayrıca elde edilen verilere göre bilişim alanında nitelikli kadın çalışan sayısının gün geçtikçe azalacağı öngörülmüştür.

FACTORS AFFECTING ACCOUNTING INFORMATION SYSTEM PERFORMANCE IN CV. HARI BAIK

An accounting information system is effective if the information needed by system users is met and efficient if the system is able to produce information without spending a lot of time in the work process. The goal of this study was to examine the variables that affect the functionality of the accounting information system, including user participation in information system development, individual technical proficiency, support from top management, training and education initiatives, user communication with information system developers, and the location of the information systems department. The test results demonstrate that user involvement in information system development, individual technical proficiency, and top management support have positive effects on the performance of the accounting information system, whereas training and education programs, user communication, information system developers, and the location of the information systems department have no impact on the performance of the accounting information system.

ENGLISH LEARNERS’ PERCEPTIONS USING GOOGLE TRANSLATE FOR DOING ASSIGNMENTS: ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES

The use of Google translate (GT) for English assignments is now inevitable. Teachers neither can prevent their students to use GT nor can supervise it since all of the learning process has been running online from home to home. Therefore both teachers and students should bring out the advantages of GT to improve English competence and to reduce the disadvantages of using GT. This study is aimed to investigate the learners’ perspectives of using GT for doing English assignments and to describe the advantages and disadvantages of GT. The study is presented in descriptive qualitative design. The data collection instruments are questionnaires and interview. The participants are 198 students of Information system department, University of Putra Indonesia YPTK Padang. The findings of this study showed that for about 80% of English learners depend their English assignments on GT. Based on the learners’ perspective, the advantages of using GT are time saver and instant results and the disadvantages of using GT are inaccuracy in the results relate to cultural context, idiom, sentences with metaphor and pragmatic aspects and laziness for learning the structure of English language. The study also came with the solution to eliminate the disadvantages of using GT.

Augmented intelligence in programming learning: Examining student views on the use of ChatGPT for programming learning

With the diversification of generative artificial intelligence (AI) applications, the interest in their use in every segment and field of society in recent years has been increasing rapidly. One of these areas is programming learning and program writing processes. One of the generative AI tools used for this purpose is ChatGPT. The use of ChatGPT in program writing processes has become widespread, and this tool has a certain potential in the programming process. However, when the literature is examined, research results related to using ChatGPT for this purpose have yet to be found. The existing literature has a gap that requires exploration. This study aims to analyze the students' perspectives on using ChatGPT in the field of programming and programming learning. The study encompassed a cohort of 41 undergraduate students enrolled in a public university's Computer Technology and Information Systems department. The research was carried out within the scope of the Object-Oriented Programming II course for eight weeks. Throughout the research process, students were given project assignments related to the course every week, and they were asked to use ChatGPT while solving them. The research data was collected using a form consisting of open-ended questions and analyzed through content analysis. The research findings revealed both the advantages and disadvantages of ChatGPT usage, as perceived by the students. The students stated that the main benefits of using ChatGPT in programming learning are providing fast and mostly correct answers to questions, improving thinking skills, facilitating debugging, and increasing self-confidence. On the other hand, the main limitations of using ChatGPT in programming education were getting students used to laziness, being unable to answer some questions, or giving incomplete/incorrect answers, causing professional anxiety in students. Based on the results of the research, it can be said that it would be useful to integrate generative AI tools into programming courses considering the advantages they provide in programming teaching. However, appropriate measures should be taken regarding the limitations it brings. Based on the research findings, several recommendations were proposed regarding the integration of ChatGPT into lessons.

Utilization of Communication Information Technology in the Development of Smart Villages

Literature review research related to the use of Communication Information Technology in developing Smart Villages in Indonesia from the perspective of development communication which has never been done before. The aim of this research is to analyze smart village studies in the 2018-2023 timeframe. The research method that has been used is Systematic Literature Review (SLR) with the PRISMA protocol for all research articles indexed in Scopus, Google Scholar, and Garuda. The search strategy is adjusted to the selection criteria and involves several variables related to publication research trends, education levels, journal indexes, research materials, and the type of evidence studied. The data obtained is presented in a quantitative descriptive manner. The results of this SLR research show that there are many studies on the use of Information and Communication Technology in developing Smart Villages. Still, only a few are related to the Development Communication perspective. The Department of Information Systems, Informatics Engineering, and Computer Science carries out most studies. However, there is still a lack of knowledge in the social humanities field.

CHARACTERISTICS OF THE TECHNICAL TASK FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF A CHATBOT

Abstract. The article describes the general principles of the technical task for the development of chatbots of a modern educational institution. It is noted that chatbots are still a new tool that is constantly developing and improving. Almost any company can integrate a chatbot into its work, because today it has become a universal assistant for various tasks. Depending on the actual needs, it can be added to the site, application or messenger. The process of developing chatbots aimed at ensuring the effectiveness of documentation and communication activities of an educational institution has been studied. Technical tasks for chatbot development are described. The purpose of the study is to consider IT tools and chatbots to activate the process of increasing the efficiency of the documentation and communication activities of the educational institution. The following methods were used: analysis method, analysis of electronic resources, comparative method of review of free online services, synthesis method. The practical significance of the study is in the description of the technical task for the development of chatbots of a modern educational institution using the example of an interactive program created for the department of management information systems of the Donetsk National University, which can be used as a comprehensive platform for interaction with students, applicants and teachers with the possibility of automating a large volume of document flow between the chatbot and its users. Disadvantages of chatbots are shown - limited reactions and the need to develop complex conversation scenarios. Such programs look for answers to customers' questions in a database prepared in advance and do not know how to improvise.

Pendampingan Pembuatan Video Game untuk SMAN 3 Batusangkar

Student creativity in the field of research can develop a method that has excellent potential to be utilized by the wider community. SMAN 3 Batusangkar students have high creativity and interest in participating in research olympiads, such as designing a video game structure as a therapeutic tool to help children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in problems with hyperactivity, impulsivity, and inattention. The designed video game is part of their research plan proposed in the Indonesian Student Research Olympiad. However, the lack of understanding of the students in making video games with the concept of visual attention for children with ADHD to be used in research is a problem in itself. Therefore, the community service team in the Information Systems Department, Universitas Andalas, assisted in making video games to increase the understanding of the SMAN 3 Batusangkar team on making video games. This activity aimed to disseminate process knowledge related to making simple video games to support innovations that benefit society. Assistance was carried out intensively at the Basic Laboratory of the Information Systems Department to help the SMAN 3 Batusangkar team complete a series of research plans proposed for the Olympics, especially at stages related to making video games.

Human Activity Recognition System

Abstract: Almost every university has its management system to manage the students' records. Currently, even though there is a student management system that manages the students' records in Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), no permission is provided for lecturers to access the system. This is because the access permission is only to top management such as Deans and Deputy Deans of Undergraduate and Student Development due to its privacy setting. Thus, this project proposes a system named Student Performance Analysis System (SPAS) to keep track of students' results in the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology (FCSIT). The proposed system offers a predictive system that can predict the student's performance in the course "TMC1013 System Analysis and Design", which in turn assists the lecturers from the Information System department to identify students that are predicted to have bad performance in the course "TMC1013 System Analysis and Design". The proposed system offers student performance prediction through the rules generated via the data mining technique. The data mining technique used in this project is classification, which classifies the students based on students' grades. In the Information Systems Department of Raharja University, where blended learning is used, this study intends to describe the propensity for student learning independence. Data analysis is done using percentages utilizing a descriptive quantitative methodology. There were 90 respondents in the study, which included students from the class of 2021 in the department of information systems at Raharja University. An open-ended statement-style questionnaire with a Likert scale was utilized to collect the data. According to the findings, student learning about independence is generally beneficial. Each variable indicative of learning independence yielded analytical results that fell into the group of favorable outcomes. The percentage results for each indicator are as follows: 1) independence from other people is 78%; 2) confidence is 75%; 3) disciplined behavior is 74%; 4) sense of responsibility is 78%; 5) act on own initiative is 75%; and 6) exercising self control is 76%. While using blended learning, teachers can more easily guide their students through the learning process.

Increasing Student Knowledge and Skills in Utilizing Google Apps

ICT contributes to the sustainability of modern society, which demands effectiveness and efficiency in every activity carried out. One form of ICT is an application on Google Apps that can support the effectiveness and efficiency of the activities carried out. SMAN 1 Kakap is one of the schools in Kubu Raya Regency, West Kalimantan. SMAN 1 Kakap continues to improve quality, including improving students' abilities and skills in using ICT. Based on observations, there are problems by students of SMAN 1 Kakap, namely the lack of knowledge and skills of students in working together to complete group assignments effectively and efficiently through the application of ICT, they are not familiar with applications that can be used in completing collaborative tasks, besides that they do not know how to use Google Apps that can support activity efficiency. Community Service (CM) carried out by the Information Systems Department of Tanjungpura University aims to find solutions to problems faced by students of SMAN 1 Kakap. The form of PKM is in the form of knowledge transfer and training on using the Google Apps application to support collaborative tasks. The evaluation was carried out two times by administering questionnaires, namely before and after the activity, aiming to determine the level of success of the training provided. Based on the results of the evaluation, there was an increase in the knowledge and skills of SMAN 1 Kakap students in using Google Apps by 36.99%.

Management Information System and Performance of Cement Firms in Southeast Nigeria

Purpose: The study examined how management information system influences the performance of cement-producing firms in Southeast Nigeria. Specifically, the influence of the transaction processing system, decision support system and executive support system on firm performance was assessed. Research methodology: The research design deployed in the study was a descriptive survey while the population of the study compromised 143 staff in the accounting and management information system departments of the selected four (4) cement companies in Southeast Nigeria. Yamane formula for sample size was applied in determining the sample size of 141 out of the population size of 143. The researchers collected primary data using a structured questionnaire administered to the respondents. Pearson Product Moment Correlational analysis was applied to establish the relationship between the variables of the study at a 5% level of significance. Results: Transaction processing system, decision support system and executive support system have a significant and positive effect on the firm performance of cement-producing companies in Southeast Nigeria. Limitations: The results are more fittingly applicable to only cement manufacturing companies. Therefore, they cannot be generalized to other sub-sectors of the Nigerian manufacturing industry. Also, the findings are valid to the extent that the responses to the questionnaire are free from bias. Contribution: The study contributes to knowledge by filling the gap created by the lack of empirical research that uncovers the influence of management information systems on the performance of cement manufacturing firms in the context of Southeast Nigeria.

The virtual reality information system for the ISN LPNU department tours with elements of full immersion as a platform for an open day

Virtual reality is an important information technology that allows to achieve significant progress in underserved areas. Immersive multimedia, or virtual reality, is a software-simulated environment that simulates physical presence in the real or imagined world. Innovative applications such as high-tech intelligent systems that correlate with the information technologies of display, modelling, building and maintaining networks, artificial touch and computer graphics have made virtual reality a breakthrough in the computing world. Excursions and distance learning in virtual reality are one of the ways to simulate the presence in a city in which a person cannot be physically present at the moment. When viewing virtual tours or attending online classes using videos/photos, the user (applicant/student/learner/teacher) only sees a flat image and cannot interact with it. In this way, the effect that the user is present in that place is lost. Virtual reality with the effect of full immersion allows to eliminate these disadvantages almost completely, and to provide the opportunity to interact with objects located on the virtual stage with the help of real body movements. In addition, in a short period of time, with the help of virtual reality, the user can visit many places, literally without leaving home. This is impossible to do in real life, as certain places are located at a great distance from the user. The object of the study is the process of conducting an interactive excursion and distance learning on the basis of the Department of Information Systems and Networks of the Lviv Polytechnic National University in virtual reality. The subject of the study comprises means, methods of designing and developing the virtual reality information system of excursions and distance learning using virtual reality information technologies. The practical significance of the obtained results is the implemented information system for conducting interactive excursions and distance learning on the basis of the university department. The scientific novelty of the obtained results is an information system based on the use of virtual reality, which is intended for online visits to the premises of the university department with elements of full immersion, as a platform for career guidance of students or distance learning of students.
